We’re kicking things off with one for the kiddos. Energy Explorers! is back on Saturday, March 9th at 11:45. Exploring our energy can bring a mind-body awareness that can be applied outside of class. Jen Sunderlin combines breath-work, movement, imagination and sound to bring awareness to our energetic systems. This fun and interactive time together will conclude with a centering exercise. Energy Explorers! is a 45 minute class appropriate for ages 4 and over.
Do you want to know more about crystals, how they work, what they can do for you, and most importantly, what to do with them?! Jen will answer all of these questions in her Crystal Clear Workshop on Saturday, March 9th at 5:30. Topics include crystal care, programming with intention, crystals to start out with, how to set up a crystal grid and more! Bring a few of your favorite crystals to work with as we go through the many aspects of crystal use together. Pre-register to be sure you’ll receive an informative packet to take home!
If you’re interested in starting a home meditation practice, register for my Meditation Workshop on Sunday, March 10th at 2pm. Most of us know that meditation is a powerful tool for reducing stress and building mental and emotional resilience, yet the prospect of meditation can be intimidating if you’ve never tried it on your own (or if you have and felt you “failed”). In this workshop, we’ll eliminate the mysticism and strip the practice down to its essence – sitting in silence. We’ll talk about ideal times to meditate, how to take mini-meditation breaks, and how to sit (or lie) comfortably for meditation. I’ll explain how to build your practice gradually, and we’ll explore different styles of meditation so that you can find one that suits you. Following the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in 21-day meditation challenge to help you get your zen ball rolling. *This event is free for Body Wisdom course members.
On March 15th, Kindred Vibes return to MSY for a Crystal Reiki Sound Bath at 7:15pm. Activate your mind, body, and soul with the tonal vibrations of the crystal singing bowls and reiki healing hands. Liz and David will guide you in a sound healing meditation that assists with clearing energy blockages. Walk away feeling brighter and lighter. No experience necessary. Learn the healing practice of Reiki with Jen Sunderlin in her Levels 1 & 2 Immersion training on March 23rd & 24th. Reiki is a safe and effective energy modality that is beneficial to everyone. Reiki re-balances the energy field that exists around and within our bodies. Open your energy channels allowing universal energy to flow more deeply and freely through you. Saturday’s training will focus on Self-Reiki: you’ll learn the technique and receive your attunement as well as an informational handbook. Sunday we’ll further explore Reiki in the Usui traditional method as well as modern techniques, distance healing, and power exercises. You will receive the level 2 attunement and symbols, give and receive hands-on practice, and receive The Healing Touch Reiki 1 & 2 by William Rand. If you haven’t yet experienced the I Am Fabulous! Workshop (or if you have and can’t wait to do it again), join Paula Hatten on Saturday, March 30th at 1:30 pm. Paula will teach you how to use essential oils to release blocked emotions and start living your best life. She will guide you through a series of essential oil applications to help you release trapped emotions make room for amazing life experiences. You’ll also get to choose a custom rollerball (“Release Your Fears” or “Bye Bye Baggage” to go home with and continue your emotional journey.
Back by popular demand: Couples Yoga & Oil Massage on Saturday, March 30th at 6 pm! So much fun was had at the Valentine class, that Jen and Paula are offering another blissful evening of fun, light-hearted couples yoga, ending with a relaxing massage you will practice on each other! Bring your favorite partner! We spend time with the ones we love daily, and sometimes forget how incredible they are! This couples class will stir up the love, friendship and unity you both share. You will be learning playful couples poses, then we'll conclude with a massage using a luxurious blend of essential oils. You will also receive a massage oil to take home! Please pre-register for this enjoyable and entertaining evening full of laughs!
And finally, if all you really want is a good night’s sleep, join me for The Better Sleep Workshop on Sunday, March 31st at 2pm. Some of us have no problem getting 8 solid hours, but many of us struggle with falling asleep or with waking in the middle of the night. Many factors can affect our ability to get a good night’s sleep. In this workshop, we’ll learn how to use the wisdom of Ayurveda, modern biohacking, and the tools of yoga and essential oils in order to maximize our potential for quality sleep so that our bodies can do what they’re meant to do while we’re unconscious: clean house, build our energy reserve, and boost our immune systems. The result: we wake well rested and ready to take on our days! *This event is free to Body Wisdom members.
Looking forward into April, the Sunday evening restorative/yin class time will change from 5:30 to 7:00. Also, the next round of Body Wisdom kicks off on April 10th! I’ll be offering free one-hour health strategy sessions during the month of March for anyone who is interested in learning how to eat better, sleep better, function better, reduce aches and pains, reduce stress, manage autoimmune conditions (over half our member have autoimmune issues, and all of us have reduced or eliminated symptoms), or simply dive deeper into an already healthy lifestyle. If you know that practicing yoga once or twice a week helps you feel better mentally and physically, imagine what could happen if you took your yoga off the mat and into your life. THAT is Body Wisdom! Our work is deep, intense and counter-culture. It’s life-changing. And it’s not for everyone.
