New Student Special: 30 Days for $30 (May Only)
For the month of May, new students can enjoy unlimited classes for 30 days for just $30. It’s the perfect way to explore different class styles, meet our teachers, and discover what resonates with you.
Where to Start
If you’re not sure which class to try first, here are a few welcoming entry points:
Embodied Slow Flow (Wednesdays at 5:30pm) – Designed for beginners and those who prefer a slower pace, this class is an opportunity to slow down, check in with the body, and address its needs with gentle, breath-centric movement.
Mindful Movements Flow (Thursdays at 9:00am) – A class where conscious awareness, breath, and slow dynamic movement are synchronized to create an experience of harmony between the body, mind, and spirit.
Evening Wind Down (Tuesdays at 7:00pm) – A calming practice that includes gentle rhythmic movement, stretching, breathwork, peaceful music, soothing scent, and light touch to help prepare your body and mind to enter a restful sleep.
But honestly, you can’t go wrong—our teachers are highly trained and read to offer options and guidance that helps you feel comfortable wherever you begin.
“Intro to Yoga” Workshop
If you’d like a little extra support getting started, join us for our Intro to Yoga Workshop on May 17th at 2:00 PM.
This workshop is designed for anyone who’s curious about yoga but unsure where to begin—or for those who want to revisit the foundations with a more supportive, body-aware approach. Together, we’ll explore common yoga postures and break them down in a way that makes sense for your body.
Rather than trying to “get the pose right,” you’ll learn how to adapt each shape so it works for you. We’ll focus on functional movement—how poses can support strength, mobility, balance, and comfort in everyday life. You’ll discover how small adjustments, props, and awareness can transform a posture from something you struggle through into something that feels steady, useful, and even enjoyable.
This is a welcoming, judgment-free space where questions are encouraged and nothing is assumed. You don’t need to be flexible, strong, or experienced—just willing to explore and learn.
Leave with practical tools, a deeper understanding of how your body moves, and the confidence to step into any yoga class feeling more at home in your practice.
Your First Visit
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before class for your first visit. This gives you time to check in, sign our waiver, get the lay of the land, and let your teacher know about any injuries or concerns.
Where to Find Us
Main Street Yoga is located at 200 Fairmont Avenue.
From Fairmont Avenue, turn onto 2nd street. The entrance for MSY is at the rear of the building on the right side of the loading dock - there is a sign with our logo on the door. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts in order to give yourself plenty of time to park and check in.
Parking is available in our lot and along the street. Give yourself a few extra minutes to find a parking spot, especially during busy times (Monday through Thursday from 8am to 3pm - except during the summer).
What to Bring to Class
We always recommend bringing your own mat if you have one. We also have mats available to borrow if don’t have one or forgot yours at home. You are welcome to bring your own props, but we have blocks, blankets, bolsters, and sandbags for everyone’s use.
What to Wear to Class
Wear clothing that allows your body to move freely without getting in the way. Most women prefer leggings and a tank top or t-shirt; however, looser fitting clothing can work too, especially for classes like qigong, yin, and restorative yoga. Men seem to favor athletic shorts and t-shirts. We recommend wearing at least two layers of clothing on the upper body so that you can remain comfortable through periods of stillness as well as periods of movement.
Studio Etiquette
To help create a calm and supportive environment for everyone:
Arrive a few minutes early—doors are locked when class begins.
Silence your phone and/or smartwatch before entering the studio—or leave it in the car. Turn off vibration as well. Electronics are very distracting in the studio environment.
Leave shoes, phone, and other belongings in designated areas. Shoes are not permitted in practice areas. We practice in our bare feet and strive to maintain an exceptionally clean floor.
Water bottles are permitted in the practice areas. Try to place them where they are less likely to be knocked over during class.
Be mindful and considerate of others in the room. Refrain from wearing strong perfumes to class. What might smell great to you could offend others or trigger allergic reactions.
Yoga is meant to be practiced with an empty stomach. Unless a medical condition prevents it, try not to eat for approximately 2 hours before class.
Stay for the entire class. If you need to leave early, please tell the teacher beforehand and exit before final relaxation.
Most importantly: listen to your body and take breaks whenever you need. Don’t compare your practice to any other student’s practice. Be kind and loving to yourself by accepting where you are. The body will respond beautifully when you show it kindness, acceptance, and love.
We can’t wait to meet you!
If you have questions before your first class, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help you get started.
