Women's Wellness Circle: Somatics for Better Mobility in Menopause

What if the stiffness you’re experiencing isn’t something you simply have to accept as part of getting older?

As we move through perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes can bring unexpected changes to our bodies—including achy joints, muscle tension, and a feeling of stiffness or decreased mobility. But we don’t have to accept this “normal” response to aging. We can learn to avoid and even reverse it with gentle movement that nourishes our bodies.

In this two-hour Women’s Wellness Circle, we’ll explore somatics as taught by Thomas Hanna, a gentle and powerful approach to movement that helps us become more aware of habitual patterns of muscular tension and rediscover greater ease in the body.

Through slow, mindful movements, you’ll learn how to release unnecessary tension, improve body awareness, and invite more freedom into areas that may feel stiff or restricted. Rather than stretching harder or forcing your way into a pose, somatic movement encourages you to slow down, listen inward, and teach your body a new way of moving.

And the best part? You don’t need to be flexible, athletic, or experienced with somatics to benefit. These movements are accessible to every body and can be especially valuable during a time when your body may be asking you to move differently.

You’ll leave with practical somatic movements you can incorporate into your daily life to help you move with greater freedom, comfort, and confidence throughout midlife and beyond.

Come curious and discover what becomes possible when you stop fighting your body and start listening to it.
