New Year Intentions

The custom of new year resolutions has good intentions behind it. We all have areas of our life we’d like to improve and habits we’d like to break or adopt. But for most people, resolutions are big changes based on what we've been told by others that we should or shouldn't do. And for that reason, most resolutions don’t last long. Some are forgotten as the demands of daily life take hold again. Some, once broken, are thrown aside in a fit of despair as we tell ourselves horrible things like we're not disciplined enough or motivated enough or worthy enough.

Intentions are different. Intentions serve as guideposts for living that gradually move us toward bigger goals and give us the grace we deserve when we miss our mark. Intentions come from a deep place of inner knowing that we have access to in a yoga practice. I hope you'll join us this year for an intention-setting workshop that combines asana, pranayama, and meditation to help you access your deep, inner knowing. Bring a journal if you have one along with any other meaningful items you feel might help.
