Lots of Reasons. No excuses.

I’m just going to go ahead and call this month “No Excuses November.” Why? Because the schedule at Main Street Yoga is packed with so many offerings that there are simply no excuses for you not to make it to your mat. We have at least one class (usually more) on the schedule EVERY day – even Thanksgiving Day!

In fact, I’m going to give you one more reason to throw your excuses out the window this month. I’m running the first-ever Thanksgiving Week Challenge at MSY. More on that later. Right now, there are a few special offerings you need to know about.

First, on Saturday, November 12th, I’m presenting “Yoga and Ayurveda for Menopause and Perimenopause.” If you are in or approaching menopause you won’t want to miss this very informative class that includes Ayurvedic recommendations for diet, sleep, and lifestyle as well as yoga sequences to help manage symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings. You’ll go home with lots of tools for making this natural right-of-passage more easeful and with the understanding that it should be something to celebrate!

Next, on Sunday, November 20th, I’m debuting “Yoga for Neck, Shoulders, and Upper Back” as a follow-up (by request) to last month’s very successful “Yoga for Low Back Pain.” Pain in the neck, shoulders and upper back can be caused by soft tissue injuries, but often it's the result of muscle tension caused by stress, poor posture, or looking downward for long periods (like we do when we look at our phones, tablets, and computers). In this workshop, you'll learn beginner-friendly yoga poses and sequences, as well as myofascial release techniques, that you can use to relieve current tension and discomfort while working toward resolving the issues that contribute to it.

On Thanksgiving morning, I’m once again teaching “Awakening Agni,” an all-levels vinyasa class designed to wake up your digestive fire! To balance things out, join me on Black Friday for “Rest and Digest,” a 90-minute restorative yoga class designed to shift your nervous system from overdrive to neutral.

Now, back to that Thanksgiving Week Challenge . . . . Since many of you have that week off from work, I’m going to challenge you to attend one class a day from Monday the 21st through Friday the 25th. Everyone who does will receive a small gift and be entered in a drawing to win a brand new Jade Harmony yoga mat!

So . . . no excuses. Make November your yogaiest (yeah, I made that word up) month ever!

See you at the studio!
